Patrick Rorke's dream is unfolding as he builds an artist residency in the enchanting village of Morija, where he was born. The residency will host both local and international artists, with a special focus on potters who’ll be working with the abundant local clay and sharing their creativity with the youth in local schools. “This is my main drive,” he explains. “There’s an awful amount of work to be done here to produce creative thinkers who can come up with real solutions for Lesotho.”

Applications for the Maloaleng Artists Residence will open in October 2025.
